The Giants are coming off another bad loss. This time at the hands of the defending Super Bowl Champion, Seattle Seahawks. By all accounts, the Giants were in this game and at halftime, looked prime to win a game. The bounces (especially two bounces in the 4th quarter that the defense just couldn’t fall on) just won’t bounce the Giants way. Injuries continue to pile up and this season looks over before it started. Among the bad, there has been some good. The Giants will host an old rival today in the San Francisco 49ers. A win at home today would be a tremendous boost for a struggling team and fan base.

Here’s what’s crushing or rushing for the New York Giants.

Rush– This looks like it could be written every week. Odell Beckham Jr. It’s a pleasure to watch this kid. To think he hasn’t had a full offseason and from all reports, isn’t hitting top gear on his routes. I love his attitude and how he relished an opportunity to play against one of the best in Richard Sherman. Beckham’s performance in Seattle brought me back to Osi Umeniora dominating Walter Jones earlier in his career. Sky is the limit for #13.

Crush– As far as rookies go, we didn’t see much from Andre Williams as a starting running back. Rashad Jennings reportedly returns today and this offense absolutely fell apart without him. Williams will be ok in the long term, but right now he benefits from being part of a 1-2 punch.

Rush– I don’t mind Eli Manning taking a shot downfield that resulted in a tipped interception. Yes, the ball was underthrown. However Eli has shown control and growth in this new offense and it was the right time to do it. This team needs to score points and with the defense falling apart (32nd overall!), the pressure falls on the shoulders of Manning.

Crush– Fans who wanted to cut Preston Parker immediately after the Monday Night game vs the Colts. Several dropped passes plagued him during that game, but patience is needed even during the frustration that mounts in every game. Jerry Reese will have a lot of sorting to do on this roster, however I think Parker has earned a spot here. He bounced back nicely in Seattle and I’d trust him over Reuben Randle right now.

Win today. At all costs. Three division games await, as well as a softer part of the schedule. No more talk, no more questions. Play hard and win. The fans need it today.
