The Giants are drowning with injuries: Growing NFL problem
There are many things that the New York Giants will have to do Sunday to beat the Jets at Metlife Stadium. The “To Do” list is long and painful, especially with the depleted source of talent due to non healthy players.
Once again the Giants are devastated by injures. The issue is not just a NY Giants problem but a growing NFL problem. Today’s NFL players do not practice enough…and I mean actually practice. While the classroom and walk-through’s are important, nothing takes the place of old fashion practice where you strap-it-up and hit.
The NFL player’s bodies maybe in better condition, with less body fat and more muscle; however, that does not mean they can step onto a field ready for combat. Game shape is allowing all the muscle groups to work, strain, rebuild and heal. What the players experience on game day can not be replicated in the classroom, the weight room, the training room or a walk-through with shoulder pads and a helmet.
Giants 2015 injuries: Victor Cruz, Will Beatty, Jason Pierre Paul, Marcus Harris, Bennett Jackson, Cooper Taylor, Nat Berhe, Brandon Mosley, Mykkele Thompson, Brett Jones, Jon Beason, Daniel Fells, Larry Donnell, Jonathan Hankins, J.T. Thomas, Prince Amukamara, Devin Unga, Justin Pugh, Geoff Schwartz, Weston Richburg, Mark Herzlich,
Offensive Starters: Cruz, Beatty, Donnell, Fells, Pugh, Schwartz, Richburg
Defensive Starters: Beason, Hankins, JPP, Thomas, Prince, Berhe (projection)
How much better is the NY Giants offensive with a healthy Will Beatty and Victor Cruz?
How much better is the NY Giants defense with a healthy Jon Beason, Jonathan Hankins and Prince?
Giants vs Jets: Remember when Justin Pugh was held out of the New England game because of an illness? Three weeks later we find out he is under the NFL concussion protocol. Pugh will not play this week and there should be a cause for concern.
