NY Giants Film Session: Week 6 – Dog of the Week

It wasn’t pretty at times and the refs clearly wanted the Ravens to win,  but a win is a win and Big Blue is back at .500 with a 3-3 record.  Odell Beckham was on the way to becoming a Film Session “Dog of the Week” with an early fumble, yet he turned it around torching the Ravens for over 200 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The defense came up with some huge stops, including a fantastic goal line stand. Overall there were flashes of great play on both sides of the ball, but a lot of work has to be done before this team can really be considered a contender.  Lots of penalties and the lack of running game both need to change as soon as possible. But one of my main takeaways from Sundays win was Trevin Wade, the focus of this week’s Film Session “Dog of the Week”.

This goes beyond just this week, Trevin Wade has been straight up bad.  He clearly is in over his head and the last couple of weeks and he’s getting way too much playing time. Yes, I understand that injuries have plagued the secondary so far with Eli Apple and DRC both having groin issues,  but someone needs to open up their eyes.

They just signed Coty Sensabaugh, who had been originally signed to replace Jenkins for the Rams.   He was cut last week, so you can see that didn’t work out.  It’s also time to put him in the game, get him some reps.  Wade has shown us nothing good.

I’ve had multiple people who barely watch football come up to me and ask why this guy (Wade) is on the field because he is so bad.  He’s constantly getting beat over the top or falling down in coverage.  Find someone else to take his spot on the roster, even Trumaine McBride was better.  It’s at the point of the season that the Giants can’t afford a game to come down to Trevin Wade letting up a big play or touchdown because he can’t cover.

We’ll see what changes Coach McAdoo and Spags make this week going over to London. Maybe the can forget Trevin Wade’s passport at home.  The G-Men need to catch the win heading into the bye week.
