With the 9th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft Jerry Reese drafted Ereck Flowers, tackle from Miami University.   Nothing in that statement said…the New York Giants.

Jerry Reese most likely pulled his trump card, citing that Brandon Scherff was no longer available so he had to have Flowers.  Well…I hope Jerry Reese is held accountable in this “playoff or bust” season.   Ereck Flowers is a nice player no doubt about it; however, I advise you to pull back and look at this from 10,000 feet.

The Giants are paying Will Beatty to be there starting left tackle.  With Weston Richburg next to him, Beatty had a nice season in 2014.  Judging by his performance, Beatty will not move positions, but Justin Pugh will.

Justin Pugh becomes the scapegoat for drafting Flowers.   Pugh did not have a great year, but what did you expect with John Jerry next to him and JD “get blow up” Walton next to him.  So in 2015…Justin Pugh will have to learn a new position, Richburg will be attempting to relearn his center skills from college and the Giants 2015 first round rookie will have to play Right Tackle.

A first round pick(top 10) playing right tackle…what a waste.  So what does this mean?   The offensive line once again…is in flux.

An impact player like Defensive End Bud Dupree from Kentucky was ripe for the drafting. He was a player that could step right in and play from day one, pushing under achieving Demontre Moore.

Dupree could have also been the replacement for the demanding, overpaid Jason Pierre Paul.
