Draft Spotlight: Round Four
With the 105th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Giants have selected arguably the biggest draft steal in Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo.
Measurables:
- 5′ 10″
- 219 lbs
Skattebo is a human bowling ball at 5’10″ and 219 lbs. Whenever he gains momentum during one of his runs, it is seemingly impossible for one guy to bring him down. He has an exceptional ability to lower his pads, remain balanced at all times and deliver power with every run.

After playing at FCS school Sacramento State, Skattebo broke out this past season for the Sun Devils, leading them to the College Football Playoff with his smash-mouth running style. His final stat line of 1,711 rushing yards, 5.8 yards per carry, and 21 rushing touchdowns was good enough for him to place fifth in the Heisman voting. His 1,711 rushing yards only trailed sixth overall pick Ashton Jeanty this past season. Notably, Skattebo was the only running back in Division I FBS football to have at least 1,500 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards.
Skattebo gives the Giants flexibility and change of pace to thier rushing attack due to his unique attributes. He is an extremely reliable third-and-short player, converting 78% of these situations thanks to his natural leverage and leg drive. He is an exceptionally patient runner who allows his linemen to set up blocks and displays a very elusive jump cut when the lanes are clogged.
He will have to improve his stamina at the next level and put the work in with ball security (he had 10 fumbles over the past three seasons). Skattebo does bring skill in the passing game as a natural hands-first catcher. This will become a huge weapon in screen and check down opportunity.
