The 2022 season saw the New York Giants making the playoffs for the first time since 2016, although the ending wasn’t what many Giant fans has been involved in two drafts now with the Giants and it appears that he has done very well with the talent he has brought in.

His first draft pick as the Giants GM was Kayvon Thibodeaux who had a promising rookie campaign and along with a healthy 3rd year starter Azeez Ojulari, should be the springboard to another playoff berth. GM Joe Schoen is banking on having two premiere pass rushers for the next decade. Ojulari had some setbacks in 2022, but when he played the talent was noticeable and if both players can avoid serious injuries, we could see double-digit sacks from both this year in 2023.

Defensive Coordinator Don (Wink) Martindale wants to be able to bring that pressure from the outside and having two pass rushing specialists gives him that dual threat from the outside. Historically, the Giants have had premier pass rushers that helped with both Super Bowk wins over the New England Patriots. Strahan, Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, JPP, Tollesfon, Kiwanuka all made major contributions. Regardless, with the additions by Schoen in the off season to strengthen the run defense, a healthy Ojulari and Thibodeaux would go a long way to the success of the New York Giants defense in 2023 and beyond.
