GM Joe Schoen is under the gun in turning the New York Giants franchise around and his first move must be drafting a quarterback in the upcoming draft. Currently, the Giants are waiting for the future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers to decide on whether to sign with them or the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Giants do have plan B, plan C & plan D in place should Rodgers decide to sign with the Steelers or retire, and that would be Russell Wilson, Joe Flacco and Jameis Winston. The rumor mill recently has had strong indications that the Tennessee Titans will not trade out of the #1 overall pick and have set their sights on quarterback Cam Ward, leaving Shedeur Sanders as possibly the next quarterback in the pecking order. However, what if Sanders goes to Cleveland at #2, leaving Joe Schoen to decide at #3 on whether to go quarterback or the BPA. Below I have a few possible scenarios for the Giants if both quarterbacks go within the first two picks (Tennessee and Cleveland).

OPTION 1

Schoen could elect to go BPA at #3 with the usual suspects of Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter or perhaps Mason Graham. Then look to possibly wait until round 2 (#34) or trade back into round 1 for a quarterback if he believes they won’t make it to round 2.

OPTION 2

Schoen could look to possibly trade back from #3 to gather more picks if he can find a team looking to move up a few spots. Of course, this would eliminate the Giants passing on one of the elite prospects in Carter, Hunter or Graham.

OPTION 3

It’s been rumored that Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart has been gaining momentum up the draft boards as notable draft expert Charles Davis in his latest mock draft suggests Dart to the Giants at #3. Could the Giants and Joe Schoen do the unthinkable and pass on the likes of Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter or even Mason Graham for Jaxson Dart with the #3 pick?

OPTION 4

Schoen could decide to draft a rookie quarterback not named Dart or possibly Milroe on late Day 2 or even on Day 3. This option would arguably be the least desired by Giant fans, but it still needs to be mentioned.

So, which option would you be more comfortable with? Each option does have levels that support it and that totally negates common sense. The bottom line here is that Schoen cannot walk away from this draft without a rookie quarterback under contract.
