The New York Giants are entering their bye week with a dismal record of 2-8 after an embarrassing loss against the lonely Carolina Panthers in overtime 20-17. Lots of finger pointing from all the Monday Morning Quarterbacks on social media on who’s to blame. Before I review the players on this current roster and what needs to be done to get this team back on track. I think we need to address whether do we think that owner John Mara will stand by his statement he made a few weeks back that both Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll are safe. Currently, the Giants final 7 games will be against teams with a combined record of 34-34, which is not menacing. However, considering that the Giants are only managing 15.6 points per game, we could see their record possibly max out with only 4 wins at the most. So, with that being said, would John Mara change his position and look to clean house in the front office, or will we see Mara give them another opportunity? Let’s look at the options that are on the table:

Option 1

John Mara stays with Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll and gives them another chance to turn this franchise around to respectability. Would this make sense to allow Schoen and Daboll to draft a quarterback with the knowledge that both are on a one year make or break season? I would also like to believe that the Giants will look for an experience quarterback via free agency to bridge the gap until the quarterback they drafted is ready to play.

Option 2

John Mara decides to change gears and clean house and start fresh again with an entire new coaching staff from top to bottom. If so, then who would that be? Are there better candidates available than Schoen and Daboll? Or would Mara be just creating a spinning wheel that goes nowhere, and the Giants continue their current trend.

Option 3

Does Schoen and Daboll go hand in hand? Meaning does Mara need to fire both or only one of them which would likely be the Head Coach. If so, would Joe Schoen be fine with that arrangement or will he insist they are a package deal (fire or keep both of us).

Fans on social media have mixed feelings which is expected and if the Giants continue to lose games, it’s likely that the fan base will lean more towards a new regime and clean house. Stay tune everyone, I think lots is going to happen from now and until the end of the season.
