The New York Giants have the 31st ranked defense.  That’ real bad!

And with the 31st ranked defense there would seem to be a ” black cloud” hanging over the unit.

Marvin Austin has not played ball in 3 years, Canty and Osi Umenyiora have defected, Justin Tuck is two years removed from being dominate, JPP has a very serious disc injury and may not play this year at all and the New York Giants somehow brought back retread, Aaron Ross.

So how can Perry Fewell and NY Giants brass fix this?  How do fans get excited about this upcoming season.   I needed something to give me some inspiration and I stumbled upon this video.

While I am a bit down on the strength and speed of 3rd round pick Damontre Moore the young talented pass rusher from Texas A & M,  his bad combine measurables have put his training into question.  I came across this video that got me excited about seeing him progress this year into an consistent edge threat.

The intriguing hybrid player may not be the right fit for a traditional defensive end role; however, the 250-pound Moore could be a good outside linebacker.  His best asset is the quick-twitch lateral mobility and the elite closing burst he displayed this past year at Texas A & M.

See for yourself and let us know what you think about the defensive end/outside linebacker.
