After the selection of wide receiver Malik Nabers in round one, GM Joe Schoen continued to add talent to the Giants roster in round two with the addition of Safety Tyler Nubin. Nubin was rated the best safety in the 2024 NFL draft and fits perfectly within new Defensive Coordinator, Shane Bowens scheme and philosophy. This scheme will call for 3 Safety high looks that will include Belton and Pinnock.

Nubin is a born leader with the knack for pulling down interceptions. He set a program record with 13 interceptions over 3 years and racked up 207 tackles (143 solo).

Here’s a breakdown of what Giant fans can expect:

Tyler Nubin: Minnesota (6’2/210)

  • A physical Presence, Explosive closer
  • Excels at playing the run
  • Can play effectively in the box
  • Has excellent instinct with play making ability
  • High football IQ with great anticipation
  • Strong coverage skills with a knack for being around the ball

  • Lacks high end speed
