Victor Cruz was vocal after the week one loss to the Detroit Lions. He wanted the ball. He reminded new Giants Offensive Coordinator, Ben McAdoo who his play-makers were.
In week two against the Arizona Cardinals the rarely outspoken slot receiver dropped two very important balls. Back up quarterback, Drew Stanton made the plays needed to win the game. The Cardinals defense secured four turnovers to seal the victory 25 to 14.
The fan base responded to the Giants, the Cruz drops and his average statistics.
Four weeks later the Giants sit at 2 and 2 in the NFC East, having beat the Houston Texans and throttling the division rival Washington Redskins 45 to 14. Cruz and Manning have settled into the new offensive and are looking like a game breaking threat once again.
Cruz has quietly become the 6th best receiver in yards, 7th in targets and 2nd in receptions over twenty yards. Not bad for a guy who left Detroit with only 2 catches and 24 yards.
