The Bye Week Provides Focus for the NY Giants

By Andrew Santoro | Contributor

With both The Redskins and The Philadelphia Eagles falling in week 11, the 5-5 Giants have a full game lead a-top of The NFC East.  The Redskins will host The Giants in week 12 with major playoff implications.

The Giants defeated the now 4-6 Redskins in week 3 of the 2015 season.  On their way to a 32-21 victory the Giants posted 19 first downs, 363 total yards. Delivered by 84 yards on the ground and 279 via the pass.  The big numbers were posted the NY Giants Defense with a whooping 3 takeaways to seal the divisional win.

The upcoming division game, is a must win for Big Blue, who are currently 2-2 in the NFC East. With a win in week 12 the Giants would sweep The Redskins in 2015. Which would be a great accomplishment for the Giants after splitting the yearly series with the Dallas Cowboys.

Regardless of the outcome in week 12, we believe that the NFC East will be decided week 17 when the Giants host the second place Philadelphia Eagles.  The bye week has come at a perfect time for Giants to get healthy and focus on the next 6 games.  There will be no wild card coming from the NFC East in 2015, so Big Blue must start this late season push by tattooing the Redskins this weekend.
