A little over a year ago quarterback Ryan Nassib from Syracuse was flying up the draft boards as one of, if not the best pro ready quarterback in the draft. That information was only believed by bloggers and mock draft specialists because in the 2013 NFL draft Ryan Nassib fell to the fourth round.
The New York Giants actually trade up for the 6′ 2″ 225 lbs. quarterback. The Giants traded away there 116th and 187th picks to Arizona in exchange for the Cardinals‘ fourth-rounder (110th overall).
Giants General Manager said, “We think this is a perfect opportunity for us to get a young quarterback with a lot of talent. The value was too high for us.” Since then very little has been heard from Nassib until now.
In the 2014 off-season the very much maligned quarterback and former first round pick, Josh Freeman from the Tampa Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings has been brought in to back up Eli Manning, so the Nassib trade rumors have begun to gain momentum around the NFL.
The Houston Texans are desperate for a signal caller, as T.J. Yates and Ryan Fitzpatrick will not help new coach Bill O’Brien win many games.
New England quarterback Ryan Mallett has also been in the trade mix with the Dallas Cowboys trying to acquire the quarterback due to the injured Tony Romo.
