Big blue continues being a big disgrace, as the disaster franchise falls to 0-5.
The Cowboys won 37-34 in Dallas, with some help from the refs, but we won’t get into that now – I strictly want to break down the play of Daniel Jones.
The Digits:
The offense finally scored a touchdown after failing to do so the last 2 games – DJ completed 20 of 33 passes for 222 yards, no TDs or picks and he lost a fumble for a touchdown. A lot of people harp on his fumbles but this one could’ve happened to anyone; He got hit quickly after the snap from the blindside.
Danny’s Dimes:
The DJ-Slayton connection was back in full force, with 11 targets for 8 completions and 129 yards. Because there was little to no protection, Jones had a few Dimes on the run down the sideline to keep drives alive. The offense converted 7 of 13 third downs.
Danny’s Crimes:
In a tie game, coaching didn’t help him. They called plays as if they were losing, completely forgetting to run the ball. Either way, Jones didn’t get them in FG range there and therefore he failed his duties as a starting QB. It is in the job description to be a franchise QB: Execute the 2-minute drill.
Everyone’s calling for Trevor Lawrence now, and those calls are going to get louder and louder every week that DJ fails to get big blue their first victory.
