The Giants defense held up well, holding Sean McVay’s explosive offense to 17 points (30+ ppg average coming into the day). The big blue offense was a major problem in LA and it cost the Giants against the Rams.  With an 0-4 record and QB Trevor Lawrence looming as the number 1 pick, some Giants fans have already given up on QB Daniel Jones.

I believe it’s too early to make that call but Jones certainly didn’t do much to help his cause in this one.

The Digits:

–          DJ complete 23 passes on 36 attempts for 190 yards, a 5.3 average; NOTHING was down the field, it was simply dinking and dunking

–          0 TDs, 1 INT, and fumbled once that he recovered himself; He had 6 rushing attempts for 45 yards

Danny’s Dimes:

–          His best throw was easily the 33 yarder to Slayton in the 4th quarter with just over 2 minutes left; It started their last drive on the right foot, and it was the longest completion of the day; DJ hit Slayton in stride and put the ball between the numbers

Danny’s Crimes:

–          1 INT, put the ball on the ground (Even though he recovered it), and an inability for the 2nd straight game to score an offensive touchdown

I understand that the line has struggled, and no wide outs seem to get any separation; Combine that with no running game and Jones doesn’t have much of a chance so far; Jason Garrett definitely needs to figure it out quickly, because this offense is pathetic.  More importantly, Daniel Jones must make big plays.

Despite him being completely undermanned with what is around him…he was the 6th overall pick and is our franchise Quarterback.  You’d like to see him put the offense on his back for an extended period of time and make big plays that scare defenses.  At the very least: Don’t go 2 straight games without scoring a touchdown.

Next week at Dallas, Coach Garrett gets a chance against his old team.  And Jones gets an opportunity to play a defense that let’s up big play after big play. If the offense can’t get it going in this one, I don’t know if they ever will.
