We had a rough go of it. 2019-2020 was a challenging year for all. We’ve seen the world in turmoil, we were shut down due to a global pandemic. COVID-19 kept us away from our family fearing the unknown. No BBQs, no holiday visits from long distanced relatives.

And for the first time ever, sporting events were shut down, stadiums were now fanless. Only the sound of artificial fans noises pumping through the speakers. In 2021 we aim for some normalcy in the world, as New York Giants football returns.

Summer brought training camp and player battles, however, the fans were still locked out from watching the likes of Sterling Shepard, Kenny Golladay, and Daniel Jones. After waiting all year to finally see their team, fans were kept on the outside….even if it was just for practice. Knowing the fans needed some goodwill, the Giants announced they would be holding “Fanfest” a day to tailgate and watch practice at Metlife stadium. They also announced the retirement of Eli Manning’s No. #10 jersey on September 26th as the Giants take on the Falcons. The internet went nuts. Promotional videos with Eli Manning popped up. It was a masterful work from the organization.

Fans saw hope to get a preview before the season. The Giant’s content creators would be out in full force, streaming live and hanging with the die-hards. Best of all…FanFest was free. A huge lift for families that couldn’t afford tickets to a game. We’ve waited a long time for this…enjoy!

When you see a fellow Giants fan give them a fist bump, greet each other with a smile, appreciate each other opinions, and most importantly be respectful. Let’s not take this moment for granted. As we saw it could all be gone in a blink of an eye. Cherish this time with each other. I hope you enjoyed FanFest. You’ve earned it Giants family!
